Experienced at every step of the development process
Vuyk Engineering Groningen (VEG) is a unique centre of excellence in the design and engineering of work ships, cargo vessels, yachts and other marine structures. We are pioneers in the entire development process and are therefore very innovative.
VEG is familiar with every step of the development process. From the very first consultation with the client concerning the project requirements, through the general and structural design, including the detailed engineering, to the supervision of construction projects. Moreover, thanks to our extensive knowledge and experience we are capable of making large complex projects manageable and completing them successfully in their entirety.
Because we are involved in every step of the process, VEG can also satisfy other requirements. These may include stability calculations, inclination tests or the upgrading of existing ships according to the latest market requirements. Examples of upgrades include the lengthening of ships, complete re-engineering and the addition of technical installations on offshore vessels,
if required.
3d Work
We involve 3D presentation at a very early stage of the design, so that the vessel is clearly set out visually. With this image we can integrate and coordinate the technical systems directly into the design. This complete 3D presentation provides clients and project partners with a clear overview of the project and allows stakeholders to make correct choices.
VEG began over 30 years ago as a detail engineering office. With this wealth of experience we have a very practical approach to design. From the earliest stage of the development process on, we focus sharply on the designs so as to ultimately deliver very comprehensive and accurate production information.
Entire life-cycle
By taking the whole vessel’s life cycle into account in the design process, we can look beyond the sea trials and the warranty period and map out the total cost of ownership, taking account of future developments.
In recent years, VEG has built up significant expertise in the field of work ships, offshore support vessels, icebreakers, cargo vessels and super yachts. Moreover, we have developed our own design standard for all these types of ships. We have developed a number of phases in this, through which we repeatedly evaluate and validate the interaction between the ship and its integral systems. As a result we can guarantee a solution that meets all specifications for the parties concerned.
