Structural design
The Structural Design department of Vuyk Engineering Groningen (VEG) is responsible for the structural design of ships, offshore units and related constructions. One important element of its activities is strength calculation according to the criteria of classification societies and others. The department also performs calculations using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), as well as optimisations with respect to steel weight and production efficiency.
The Structural Design department operates as part of overall design and engineering projects within VEG, but it also performs specific assignments for clients. For example, we assist with approval procedures for classification societies and perform feasibility studies for refittings and conversions.
Optimal constructions
One of our strengths is the ability to determine optimal constructions in close consultation with the client using the years of experience our employees have in this area. A thorough knowledge of rules and regulations also benefits this process.
